Social Worker - Mental Health Team

£38.86 per hour (Umbrella)

You'll work across Swindon and occasionally travel to nearby areas such as Salisbury, Bath, Bristol, and Devizes, adding variety and breadth to your role.

What You'll Be Doing

In this varied and rewarding position, you will:

• Deliver complex, person-centred assessments (Care Act, S117, Mental Capacity)
• Create outcome-focused support plans that promote independence
• Support carers through challenging and sensitive situations
• Manage risk effectively using advanced assessment skills
• Lead and chair Best Interest meetings
• Undertake Section 42 safeguarding enquiries and act on concerns
• Maintain accurate, high-quality records
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues within the team

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from Social Workers who are:

• Qualified (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) and registered with Social Work England
• Experienced in Care Act and Mental Capacity assessments
• Confident in strengths-based practice and relevant legislation
• Resilient, organised, and able to manage a busy workload
• Passionate about improving the lives of people with mental health needs

Mental health experience is desirable, but not essential-we welcome candidates with strong core skills and a genuine desire to develop in this area.
