JOB TITLE: Wash Bay Operative

LOCATION: Aylesford, Kent

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Team Leader / Operations Manager

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure all returned hire equipment is thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and prepared to company standards before being dispatched to customer sites. The role is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation within the wash bay, warehouse, and yard areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and wash returned hire equipment using appropriate cleaning methods, tools, and products.
• Prepare equipment to a high standard, ensuring it is clean, presentable, and ready for dispatch to site contracts.
• Carry out visual inspections of equipment and report any damage, faults, or maintenance requirements.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of equipment within the warehouse and yard.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards throughout the wash bay, warehouse, and external yard areas.
• Ensure all waste materials are disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed.
• Keep workstations, storage areas, and access routes clean, organised, and free from hazards.
• Support warehouse operations with general duties as required.
• Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times.
• Report accidents, hazards, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Desirable:

Experience using pressure washers or industrial cleaning equipment.

Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Primarily based within the wash bay, warehouse, and yard areas.
