Management Accountant - 1 day in office - Slough - £300 - £325 per day

Role Purpose

A hands-on finance business partnering role responsible for delivering management accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and commercial support across multiple business units. The role also provides leadership and support to management accountants, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and effective decision-making support for operational stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reports.
  • Analyse financial results, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities across business units.
  • Challenge assumptions and identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and investment decisions.

Cost Control & Business Performance

  • Monitor costs against budgets and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Provide analysis of labour, materials, and operational costs.
  • Support operational teams in improving profitability and performance.

Cash Flow & Working Capital

  • Monitor cash flow performance and working capital metrics.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts and support cash recovery initiatives.

Financial Business Partnering

  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to operational leaders.
  • Support project performance reviews, pricing decisions, and business planning.
  • Develop financial models and sensitivity analyses to support decision-making.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Support audit requirements and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
  • Assist in developing finance team capability and best practices.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Excellent analytical and cost analysis skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience leading or supporting finance team members.
  • Professional accounting qualification (preferred).
