Freelance Site Engineer (Highways / Civils)

£320 - £350 DoE

Start ASAP until Feb 2027

Our client, a leading civil engineering sub-contractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a highway infrastructure scheme in East Yorkshire.

The role will focus primarily on the successful delivery of drainage works, requiring an engineer with strong setting-out capabilities and previous experience on civil engineering or highways projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Setting out and surveying drainage installations

• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design drawings and specifications

• Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information

• Conducting quality assurance checks and inspections

• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and the wider project team

• Assisting with the planning and coordination of daily site activities

• Promoting and maintaining high health and safety standards on site

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure projects

• Strong background in drainage works

• Proficient in the use of GPS, robotic total stations, and surveying equipment

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

• CSCS card essential

• Full UK driving licence

• SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
