Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Psychology Graduates Wanted

If you’re a Psychology graduate who’s curious about a future in Educational or Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or simply want to gain hands-on experience supporting young people, this one’s for you.

We’re on the lookout for kind, thoughtful graduates who are ready to support pupils with additional needs across schools in Swindon. You don’t need bags of experience, just the right mindset, a bit of patience, and a genuine interest in SEN (Special Educational Needs). Think autism support, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and a whole lot of 1:1 encouragement.

We find that people from Psychology backgrounds fit really well into SEN support based roles. Your understanding of behaviours and child development is a massive plus.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting students with ASD, SEMH or PMLD across the school day

Helping out with interventions and small group work

Being that consistent, calm adult they know they can rely on

Working alongside teaching and support staff to create a positive, structured environment

What We’re Looking For:

A Psychology degree (or relevant field)

A calm, flexible approach. No two days are the same

Bonus points if you’ve worked with children or adults with SEND, but not essential

A genuine interest in helping young people thrive

What You’ll Get from Us:

Weekly pay (PAYE—no umbrella company nonsense)

A dedicated consultant who actually picks up the phone

FREE access to in-person CPD and Thrive training (trust us, it’s a game-changer for SEN roles)

Your own online availability lounge to keep things flexible

We work with all schools throughout Swindon, Wiltshire, Bristol, Bath, NE Somerset, Somerset, South Glos and surrounding areas. If this role is not in your area, please do still apply. There will be a school and role nearby!

Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award 2022, REC audited, Investor In People, CPD Member

If you are interested in this role please apply through this advert or apply on our Protocol Education website.

We pride ourselves on employing a wide range of educators from a variety of experienced backgrounds and settings as well as aspiring educators and teachers with diverse experiences and transferable skills who are passionate and caring individuals to educate children and young people within our schools.

Please note, to apply for this role you must have right to work in the UK.

If you feel you would be great for this role, apply today

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
