Offshore Wind Turbine Support Engineer

We are excited to announce an immediate contract opportunity for an Offshore Wind Turbine Support Engineer to collaborate with our esteemed renewable energy client.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Offshore Wind Turbine Support Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for some of our client's major offshore wind farms. Your role will involve advising on team process optimizations and providing second-line remote support to help restore wind assets to operational status using established solutions or safe modes when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and enhance the Technical Support second-line business requirements for current and future contracts.
• Ensure timely and quality responses to technical queries.
• Develop standardized solutions for known issues.
• Apply Technical Support second-line internal processes accurately.
• Contribute to the management of Technical Support second-line processes.
• Assist in the performance and development of the second-line team.
• Support the Technical Support second-line manager.
• Lead the Technical Support internal projects for the second-line team.
Key Deliverables and Activities
• Identify potential platform issues from individual requests and collaborate with affected sites for status investigations.
• Organize regular meetings with sites to prioritize technical requests related to the entire client fleet.
• Subject Matter Expert: Oversee the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of reset alarm guides for surveillance teams.
• Lead and coordinate top 10 alarm projects.
Standardization:
• Document technical solutions in a solution database for efficient query resolution through the ticketing system or hotline calls.
• Create and maintain standard corrective work packages to facilitate planning and scheduling for troubleshooting planners.
• Ensure adherence to standardized processes and effective use of standard tools.
Contractual Input:
• Provide project feedback to product lines and share employer requirements for future projects.
• Collect and relay feedback about technical support needs to the Head of Technical Support.
Process Management:
• Contribute to the development, documentation, maintenance, and improvement of internal processes.
• Engage proactively with stakeholders to discuss process interfaces.
IT Tools:
• Gather Technical Support requirements for IT product development.
• Test and validate new products from a user perspective.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within the energy sector or a technical industry, with a preference for offshore/onshore wind knowledge from development, project, or O&M roles.
• Extensive technical, operational, and maintenance experience, with preference for candidates who have led change in large international organisations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present, build relationships, and influence across cultures and geographies.
• Proficient computer skills with beneficial experience in enterprise resource planning platform and electrical knowledge.
This position may require occasional presence in our client's central London office, but the majority of work can be handled remotely.
