Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing delivery team working across the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF) on a portfolio of resurfacing, pavement renewal and highway improvement schemes throughout the North West.

We are particularly keen to speak with experienced Site Agents and Site Supervisors who possess a strong engineering background and a proven track record delivering highways, resurfacing and maintenance projects on motorway and major road networks.

Working across Areas 10 and 13, the successful candidate will take full responsibility for site delivery, acting as the Principal Contractor's representative on site. You will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and in accordance with National Highways standards and quality requirements.

This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who can independently manage sites, lead subcontractors, coordinate resources and maintain high standards of health, safety and operational performance throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day site operations across resurfacing and highway maintenance schemes.

Supervise resurfacing, pavement renewal, drainage and highway improvement activities.

Ensure compliance with National Highways standards, procedures and project requirements.

Coordinate subcontractors, plant, materials and labour resources.

Monitor programme delivery, productivity and progress against key milestones.

Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Review drawings, specifications and construction information.

Maintain accurate site records, reports and documentation.

Manage permit systems and ensure RAMS are implemented effectively.

Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Site Agent or Site Supervisor on highways projects.

Strong engineering background within civil engineering or highways construction.

Proven experience delivering resurfacing and highway maintenance schemes.

Experience managing motorway or major road improvement projects.

Previous experience working for Tier 1 contractors.

Ability to manage sites independently and drive programme performance.

Good understanding of National Highways standards and specifications.

Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Safety Critical Medical

First Aid at Work (3-Day)

Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Experience

National Highways SDF Framework experience.

Pavement renewals, patching programmes and resurfacing schemes.

Drainage and highway maintenance works.

NEC contract awareness.

Previous experience delivering works on night shifts.
