Systems & Transactional Accountant

Location: Surrey

A Surrey based local authority are seeking an experienced and proactive Systems & Transactional Accountant to play a key role in the management, development and continuous improvement of the Council's financial systems and transactional finance services.

As Systems & Transactional Accountant, reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll lead the TechnologyOne (T1) system driving automation, enhancements, and process improvements.

This role gives the opportunity to make a significant contribution to a progressive public authority to influence how finance systems support service delivery and help shape the future of the Council's finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and maintain the TechnologyOne (T1) system

Deliver system enhancements, automation, and stronger financial controls

Manage upgrades, testing, support queries, and user training

Develop reports, dashboards, and tools to support decision-making

Oversee BACS payments and collections

Support transactional finance (AP, AR, credit control)

Support year-end, treasury management, and VAT processes

About You

Full AAT or part-qualified CCAB status.

Experience of finance systems administration.

A strong understanding of local government finance.

The ability to manage multiple priorities and drive change.

Experience of TechnologyOne, project management, treasury management or VAT would be advantageous.
