Thrive Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Supply Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN unit in Cirencester on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with additional learning needs while gaining valuable experience in a supportive educational setting.
The Role
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and learning disabilities.
Assisting with the delivery of individual learning plans and classroom activities.
Providing one-to-one and small group support.
Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and confidence.
Supporting positive behaviour management strategies.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who:
Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting.
Are patient, caring, and adaptable.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Are committed to supporting the educational and personal development of children with additional needs.
Hold relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
