R&D Scientist / Chemical Engineering Carbon and Graphene Technology & Prototyping R&D Scientist / Chemical Engineering Carbon and Graphene Technology & Prototyping We're hiring: R&D Scientist / Engineer – Advanced Materials & Graphene Right to work in the UK required Join us at the frontier of sustainable innovation. We're now seeking an R&D scientist/engineer to join our core technology team. If you thrive on hands-on innovation, problem solving, and building what’s never been built, this is your moment. In this role, you will: Help scale our carbon and graphene production technology Support design and evaluation of proprietary equipment Define the path to commercial manufacturing Manage and evolve our technical data room Track the cutting edge of advanced materials Collaborate with external partners on MVP development and validation Key responsibilities: Analyse and recommend equipment, lab configurations, and prototyping setups Conduct hands-on R&D – assemble, optimise, and test Track emerging technologies, methods, and applications Manage technical documentation for IP, grants, and investor readiness Collaborate with external labs, universities, and partners Ensure lab safety, compliance, and best practices What we’re looking for: MSc, MEng, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or Nanotech Hands-on lab experience (ideally with endpoint and security tooling, graphene, or other 2D/3D materials) Experience with prototyping, materials processing/characterization Strong technical documentation and data analysis skills UK work authorisation, ideally Greater Manchester based What we offer: Equity from an early stage High-ownership role in a deep-tech company tackling climate and resource challenges Work directly with senior leadership and top-tier partners Help shape the future of sustainable advanced materials This is not just another job.
