SENCo

Location: Birmingham

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £38,412 to £56,543

Are you an experienced SENCo looking to make a lasting impact in a specialist school?

Do you have the passion and expertise to support children and young people with autism to achieve their full potential?

Are you ready to lead and develop an outstanding SEND provision within a supportive school environment?

A specialist school in the North Birmingham area is seeking an experienced SENCo to join their dedicated team. The school supports children and young people aged 7 to 16 with autism, providing a nurturing, structured environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.

This is an exciting opportunity for a SENCo to lead and develop the school's SEND provision, working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, families and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives the highest standard of support. You will play a key role in driving inclusive practice, monitoring progress and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.

The successful SENCo will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo), or be willing to work towards it if applicable

• Previous experience working as a SENCo or within a SEND leadership role

• A strong understanding of autism and effective strategies to support pupils with additional needs

• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills

• A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND

In return for the above you can expect to receive:

• A competitive salary of £38,412 to £56,543 depending on experience

• Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities

• A supportive leadership team and collaborative working environment

• Access to specialist resources and facilities

• The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children with autism

• Dedicated support from your TeacherActive consultant throughout the recruitment process

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you’re paying the right level of TAX and National Insurance and there’s no messing around with admin charges coming out of your hard earned cash.
