Job Description

Conrad Consulting are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a major long-term project based in Ayrshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join a complex project environment, working with key stakeholders and supporting the successful delivery of commercial objectives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing commercial activities, supporting cost control, contract administration, and ensuring effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:

Managing subcontractor packages and commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle

Supporting cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting

Managing valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts

Supporting contract administration and commercial governance

Working collaboratively with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders

Providing commercial insight and support to ensure successful project outcomes

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with:

Strong Quantity Surveying / Commercial experience

A background within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or similar complex project environments

Experience working with NEC4, JCT and ICHEME contracts

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

A proactive approach with the ability to work independently

Role Summary:

Location: Ayrshire

Duration: 6 months initially, with possibility of extension

Rate: Up to £65 per hour
