Job Title: Delivery Driver

Location: Basingstoke

Contract Type: Temporary - 6 Months initially with potential to be extended or become permanent

Salary: £13.16 per hour

Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 08:30 - 16:30 Saturday will be paid at time and a half

Job Purpose

Hampshire County Council are looking for a delivery driver to work within te equipment services department. Hampshire equipment services deliver and install equipment such as beds and chairs into homes in which people require this equipment. In this particular role, you will be delivering beds across Hampshire with the main depot based in Basingstoke.

Main responsibilities

Manual handling of equipment (parts up to 20kg)

Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues

Assist with loading and unloading the van

Driving a van to and from locations in Hampshire completing on average 10 - 15 drops per dayRequirements and experience

Driving Licence

Strong communication skills

Previous van driving experience preferred but not essential

Ability to life goods up to 20kg in weight to load onto and off the delivery van

Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

Please not, a vehicle is provided and petrol costs will be covered. You will require a safe and secure space to park the van outside of work, you will not be allowed to drive the van for personal use. Van use to get to and from the warehouse will be allowed.
