Overview
We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within our educational facilities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that classrooms, hallways, and communal areas are safe, tidy, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is advantageous. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment through diligent cleaning practices. We require a cleaner for 3 weeks to conduct a deep clean from 20 July 2026.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to high standards of hygiene.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and dust surfaces regularly.
• Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in good working order.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the relevant personnel promptly.

Experience

• Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.
• Organised approach to tasks with a focus on efficiency and thoroughness. This role is essential in creating a safe and pleasant environment conducive to effective learning. This role involves working within a school environment. The successful candidate will need an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and provide satisfactory references before employment can commence.
