We are looking for a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 2 to 21 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges, and alongside some learning disabilities.This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team in a specialist setting in Kings Heath, Birmingham where every day is different, and every small success counts.About the Role: Provide individualised support to pupils with ASD, MLD and complex needs, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies. Support the development of social skills, confidence, and independence in young learners. Providing personal care and support for students with learning/physical disabilities. Requirements: Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs, in a SEND classroom. Team Teach/MAPA/CPI Interventions - must hold an in date certificate A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting challenging behaviours. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A proactive, flexible mindset and a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.Desirable: Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or mental health (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, etc.). Experience working in an SEN or alternative provision environment.
