Contract Type: Full-time, Long term - Temp - Perm
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated QTS English Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of literature, language, and communication in students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

You will be part of a supportive English department that values creativity, high standards, and collaborative working.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that meet curriculum requirements
• Inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Assess, track, and support student progress effectively
• Contribute to curriculum development within the English department
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Support the wider school community through enrichment activities and events

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who has:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• A degree in English or a related subject
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature
• Excellent classroom management skills
• A commitment to raising achievement for all learners
• Enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to motivate young people
• A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
