Join the organisation Energy System Operator (NESO) as we help transform Great Britain’s energy system into a cleaner, more sustainable future. We’re looking for an UX Designer to work with our UX Lead and product teams to create user-friendly, accessible digital experiences.
This role is based from Wokingham, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
• Design intuitive interfaces and user journeys for NESO applications.
• Work with the UX Lead, developers, and product teams to turn ideas into usable designs.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and final designs using tools like creative design software or Sketch.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to improve designs.
• Help maintain a design system and component library for consistency.
• Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and work across devices.
About You
Essential Skills:
• Experience in UX design and user-centred design principles.
• Skilled in design tools (creative design software, Sketch, Adobe Suite).
• Understanding of Design Thinking, Jobs to be done framework, agile ways of working, and user research.
• Delivery mindset and ability to create clarity with ambiguous information
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with real-time data or complex systems.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies like React.
• Interest in data visualisation and performance optimisation.

About What You'll Get
A competitive salary up to £82,000pa – dependent on experience and capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on company performance, 26 days annual leave as standard and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
