Overview

The Role

Responsibilities
• Developing bespoke content-management software themes based on client designs, with a preference for using Advanced Custom Fields for either a template or block-based approach.
• Implementing new functionality for content-management software using custom plugin development.
• Applying and updating plugins and content-management software versions.
• Liaising with other members of the organisation team and directly with clients, mostly on video calls, to fully understand and implement their requirements.
• Setting up tracking using web analytics software and web analytics software, and sometimes integrating these with clients' CMS or sales processing software.
• Creating dashboards and exporting data using tools such as data-visualisation software for client reports.
Experience & Skills
• Content-management software
• Using Advanced Custom Fields for block & theme development (training provided if not required).
• Web-programming languages, server-side web-programming languages, web markup technologies, web styling technologies
• Familiarity with MS Office and cloud productivity software (particularly spreadsheet software and cloud productivity software)
• A good standard of English and maths
• An analytical mindset with the ability to grasp complex problems and identify solutions
• Good organization and time management skills
• Good written and spoken communication skills to interact with clients and team members
• A passion for digital and a desire to continually develop knowledge in a changing environment
• Must have own transport and be within easy commuting distance (no more than 40 minutes' drive)

This is a full-time role; however, some flexibility with working hours is available. Following training and probation, the role would be hybrid, with homeworking available three days a week (office days: Tuesday and Thursday).

Due to expansion, we are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team as a Junior Web Developer. This role would suit someone with a keen interest in coding and all technical aspects of websites. The successful candidate will be keen to learn more and develop their skills in a hands-on way, with full support from our existing developers. You will need to live within commuting distance of our offices near Godalming, and you will also need a full driving license and your own car as we are in a rural location.
