SEN Teaching Assistant | Havering | £85.50-£110 per day | September 2026

Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Provide 1:1 support as an SEN Teaching Assistant for pupils with additional needs

Support small intervention groups as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Work with children with autism, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language needs as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Assist the class teacher and SENCO as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with special educational needs

A caring, patient and resilient approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Understanding of behaviour management and SEN strategies

A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
