Pay: 100 - 120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school located in Sheffield (S11).

This welcoming school is part of a large, well-established multi-academy trust and prides itself on providing a nurturing, supportive environment for children with complex and high-level special educational needs. They are looking for someone who shares their child-centred ethos and is passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of young people.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of complex needs, providing both educational and emotional support throughout the school day. You will help create a safe, positive learning environment where every child can thrive, develop confidence, and reach their full potential.

We would love to hear from candidates who have experience in nurturing or caring environments, including:

• Teaching Assistants with SEN experience
• Healthcare Assistants or Support Workers
• Nursing or care backgrounds
• Residential Care Workers
• Individuals with experience supporting children or adults with additional needs

The ideal candidate will be:

• Patient, empathetic, and resilient
• Passionate about supporting children with high and complex needs
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Calm and confident in challenging situations
• Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday

The successful candidate will:

• Provide consistent, nurturing support to pupils with complex SEN.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Encourage independence while adapting support to individual needs.
• Promote positive behaviour through a nurturing and restorative approach.
• Be reliable, committed, and willing to become an integral part of the school community.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn, taking on feedback and training to continuously develop within the role.

• Competitive daily pay of 100 - 120, depending on experience.

The higher end of the pay scale ( 120 per day) is available to candidates who can demonstrate relevant experience and skills within SEN or nurturing environments. This may include previous work in specialist schools, healthcare, nursing, residential care, or supporting children and young people with complex additional needs.

Candidates who can evidence experience supporting pupils with high and complex needs, excellent behaviour management skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable children are more likely to be considered for the higher rate of pay.
