The Opportunity
Our public sector client are seeking an experienced and proactive Wellbeing Officer to lead the development and implementation of a new organisational wellbeing strategy while establishing and promoting a newly launched Wellbeing Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in embedding wellbeing throughout the organisation, improving employee engagement and helping to create a positive workplace culture where wellbeing is recognised as a key contributor to organisational success.
Working closely with the Agency Management Team, managers and employees, you will combine strategic planning with hands-on delivery to ensure wellbeing initiatives have a lasting impact across the business.
Welsh language skills are desirable for this role; however, English is essential.
Key Responsibilities
As Wellbeing Officer, you will:
Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the organisation's Wellbeing Strategy.
Manage and promote the Wellbeing Hub, ensuring it becomes an accessible and valuable resource for employees.
Assess employee wellbeing needs through consultation, surveys, feedback and data analysis.
Design, coordinate and deliver engaging wellbeing initiatives, campaigns and events.
Promote wellbeing awareness and encourage participation across all areas of the organisation.
Build and maintain effective relationships with managers, employees and external wellbeing providers.
Monitor the effectiveness of wellbeing activities and recommend improvements based on feedback and performance data.
Prepare reports, performance updates and strategic recommendations for the Agency Management Team and Board.
Support the development of policies and working practices that promote employee wellbeing, resilience and engagement.About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual who is passionate about improving workplace wellbeing and can successfully combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.
You'll be confident working independently, influencing stakeholders at all levels and driving positive organisational change.
Essential Experience
You will have experience of:
Developing, implementing or coordinating workplace wellbeing, employee engagement, organisational development or health and wellbeing initiatives.
Managing projects from planning through to implementation and evaluation.
Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and building strong professional relationships.
Producing reports and presenting recommendations to senior management.Essential Knowledge & Skills
You will be able to demonstrate:
A strong understanding of workplace wellbeing, employee engagement, organisational culture and mental health awareness.
The ability to develop strategies and translate them into practical action plans.
Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
Strong organisational and project management abilities.
Experience analysing data and using evidence to inform decision-making.
The ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing deadlines and work effectively with minimal supervision.Desirable
Ideally, you will also have:
A qualification in Health & Wellbeing, Human Resources, Occupational Health, Psychology, Community Development, Project Management or another relevant discipline.
Experience working within the public sector, voluntary sector, community organisations or social enterprises.
Knowledge of recognised wellbeing frameworks and current best practice.
Experience establishing or managing wellbeing programmes, wellbeing hubs or employee support services.What Success Looks Like By the end of the initial contract, you will have successfully:
Developed and launched the organisation's Wellbeing Strategy.
Established and promoted a successful Wellbeing Hub.
Delivered a programme of engaging wellbeing initiatives and activities.
Increased employee awareness and engagement with wellbeing services.
Developed meaningful wellbeing measures and reporting mechanisms.
