About the Role

You'll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and SEND professionals supporting children both inside and outside the classroom.

Every day is different, but responsibilities may include:

Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.

Supporting learning within small classroom groups.

Encouraging emotional regulation using positive behaviour strategies.

Building trusted relationships that help pupils feel safe and confident.

Supporting communication, independence and social development.

Assisting with sensory activities and personalised learning programmes.

Supporting pupils during breaktimes, educational visits and practical lessons.

Recording progress and sharing observations with teaching staff.Many of our schools provide excellent opportunities for career progression, with many of our Teaching Assistants moving into permanent school positions, Higher Level Teaching Assistant roles, Behaviour Mentor positions and teacher training.

Your current experience has already equipped you with many of the skills schools value most.

You may already have experience:

✔ Managing challenging behaviour.

✔ Supporting Autism or Learning Disabilities.

✔ Promoting independence.

✔ Building therapeutic relationships.

✔ Safeguarding vulnerable people.

✔ De-escalation techniques.

✔ Personal care.

✔ Working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

These transferable skills are incredibly valuable within specialist education.
