Location: North London

Rate: Competitive - DOE

Hours: 10 Hour Shifts

Duration: 12 Months

About the Role

Simply Recruitment Limited are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join a major industrial project.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile engineering project overseeing the mechanical installation and commissioning activities associated with steam turbine generators.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical fitting, turbine installation and alignment, and will be responsible for managing site activities, coordinating labour and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all mechanical activities on site.
• Supervise mechanical fitting teams and subcontractors.
• Oversee the installation, assembly and alignment of steam turbine generators and associated equipment.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality standards.
• Coordinate daily site operations and monitor project progress against programme.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers and other trades on site.
• Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with RAMS, permit systems and health & safety procedures.
• Monitor workforce productivity and quality of workmanship.
• Manage site documentation, reports and progress updates.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues as they arise.
• Ensure all lifting and installation activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on industrial or power generation projects.
• Strong mechanical fitting background.
• Demonstrable experience with the installation and alignment of steam turbine generators.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and quality requirements within industrial environments.
• Ability to manage multiple work fronts and coordinate site teams effectively.
