We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary SEND school in Warwick. This is a full-time, ongoing position with a strong likelihood of lasting for the full academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a meaningful difference in their education and personal development.
The successful candidate will be working closely with pupils across the primary age range who have a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will provide tailored support to help students access learning, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their individual educational and personal targets. Working alongside the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team, you will help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Applicants must have previous experience supporting children or young people with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour within an educational or similar setting. You should be confident using a calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management, with the ability to build positive relationships and respond effectively to a range of individual needs. An understanding of sensory needs, emotional regulation strategies, and positive behaviour support techniques would be highly beneficial.
Experience working with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) is essential. You will be expected to follow individual EHCP targets, implement personalised learning strategies, monitor pupil progress, and provide regular feedback to teaching staff. The ability to adapt activities and support pupils in line with their individual learning plans is key to ensuring they reach their full potential.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include supporting pupils on both a one-to-one basis and in small groups, encouraging independence, promoting positive behaviour, assisting with classroom activities, and helping to create an engaging learning environment. You will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver high-quality support that meets the diverse needs of each pupil.
The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. Strong communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour are essential qualities for this role.
Requirements:
This is a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated team within a specialist primary SEND school where your support will have a lasting impact on the lives of children with additional needs. If you are enthusiastic, experienced, and committed to providing outstanding support for pupils with SEND, we would love to hear from you.
