Position: Humanities Teacher 

Location: Haringey 

Start date: September 2026 

Smart Teachers is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in North London for a Humanities Teacher (KS3 Only) with General Cover responsibilities to join the school from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible and engaging teacher who enjoys working with Key Stage 3 students and is confident delivering lessons across Humanities subjects while providing general classroom cover when required. Full planning and resources will be available for Humanities lessons.

The Role

Teach Humanities across Key Stage 3, including History, Geography and/or Religious Education.

Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote curiosity and achievement.

Provide general cover across the secondary curriculum as required.

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for students.

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Has experience teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3.

Is adaptable and confident delivering general cover lessons across a range of subjects.

Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Is committed to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of young people.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

Provide satisfactory references covering the past two years.

Have the legal right to work in the UK.
