Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing and industrial processes, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Engineer to join their team based in London, England, UK. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, blending the benefits of in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be instrumental in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and driving innovation within a complex industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
Analyse and design optimal manufacturing and production layouts, workflows, and processes.
Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across the manufacturing floor.
Utilize statistical analysis, simulation, and data modelling to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Design and implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline operations.
Develop standards for production, safety, and quality, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality assurance, and management, to achieve operational goals.
Oversee and participate in the testing and validation of new processes and equipment.
Create detailed technical documentation, including process flow charts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and equipment manuals.
Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on best practices in industrial engineering.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend their implementation to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process improvements and capital investments.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt certification preferred), and process optimization techniques.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), CAD software, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python).
Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain principles, and quality management systems.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies is desirable.
