R&D Test Systems Engineer

Location: Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire

Rate: £55 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract: 3 Month Contract

Industry: Aerospace / Advanced Engineering / Research & Development

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced R&D Test Systems Engineer to support the delivery of advanced engineering programmes. This short term contract will see you playing a key role in the build and commissioning of specialist test equipment used to validate complex electro mechanical systems.

This is a hands on engineering role suited to someone with experience building and commissioning bespoke test rigs in an R&D or manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing

Build mechanical test rigs in accordance with engineering drawings and plans

Complete rack wiring and instrumentation installation

Install plumbing for liquid cooling systems

Commission and bring test equipment into operation

Follow established commissioning procedures and safety requirements

Troubleshoot and resolve issues during test rig build and bring up

Report daily progress to project leadership

Deliver work to a high standard of quality within project timescalesSkills and experience

You will ideally have:

HNC, HND or equivalent technical engineering experience

Previous experience building and commissioning test system rigs

Strong electro mechanical assembly experience

Experience of rack build, instrumentation and electrical wiring

Experience with plumbing for industrial or cooling systems

Experience fault finding and bringing test equipment into service

Good understanding of safe working practices within engineering environmentsDesirable experience includes:

City & Guilds 2382-22 18th Edition qualificationWhat's on offer
