Job Summary
They are seeking an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join a high-performing fund accounting team. This role is responsible for the accurate calculation, verification, maintenance, and reporting of mutual fund and investment accounting data to clients, internal stakeholders, and external databases. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across fund accounting activities.
This position is ideal for a qualified accounting or finance professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience within fund accounting, investment operations, or financial services.
You will be hybrid working being office based 4 days a week, 1 day working from home. Standard office hours Monday to Friday with the occasional out of hours requirement inlign with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Report and validate mutual fund data for clients, internal business groups, and external database providers.
Prepare, review, and complete financial reports, surveys, worksheets, and client deliverables.
Maintain and update mutual fund databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
Produce routine and ad hoc reports, notifications, and supporting documentation.
Prepare and review fund financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Perform reconciliations of holdings, trades, cash balances, accruals, and other fund accounting records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during the reconciliation and reporting process.
Verify tax-related statements and supporting documentation prior to submission to the Tax Department.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting activities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting queries.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within fund accounting operations.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
Proven experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, financial reporting, or asset management operations.
Strong understanding of mutual fund accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
Experience performing reconciliations across holdings, trades, cash, accruals, and investment portfolios.
Advanced numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems/databases.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
