A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Islington is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will inspire and challenge pupils as they progress through Upper Key Stage 2, preparing them for the transition into Year 6.

The successful candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5

Demonstrate strong knowledge of the primary curriculum

Deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons that promote high levels of achievement

Have high expectations for behaviour, attainment, and pupil progress

Use assessment effectively to plan and adapt learning for all pupils

Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

Be committed to contributing to the wider life of the school

The role will involve:

Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum

Preparing pupils for the academic expectations of Year 6

Monitoring and assessing pupil progress to ensure excellent outcomes

Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

Working collaboratively with the Upper Key Stage 2 team and senior leaders to drive standards across the school
