Role: Wood Machinist
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30
Pay: 14.00 - 15.00 p/hour (DOE)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Wood Machinist to join a well-established joinery and manufacturing business in Ipswich. This role is ideal for someone who has previous wood machining experience and is confident working independently within a busy workshop environment.

Wood Machinist Duties:

• Operating woodworking machinery including spindle moulders, routers, saws, band saws, drum sanders, and other workshop equipment
• Working from technical drawings and job specifications
• Preparing and machining timber components accurately to customer requirements
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure finished products meet required standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working as a Wood Machinist within a joinery or woodworking environment
• NVQ, apprenticeship, or relevant training in Joinery or Carpentry (desirable)
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings
• Confident using a range of woodworking machinery
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
