Locums ED Physician Needed for additional coverage:Teaching Hospital33 ED beds22% Admission rateAdditional facility informationThe 129-acre wooded campus included the main hospital, as well as a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital, outpatient rehabilitation center, and a community health and fitness center.Health System was named one of the top 20 Large Community Hospitals in the U.S. by Thomson Reuters (2012).Reason for coverage Need: UnderstaffedNumber of shifts needing coverage: 40 shiftsHow long will job be open: Until staffedRequirements:Vent Mgmt., Central Lines, Chest tubes, Trauma, Ultrasound, ProceduralSedation, Emergency Cricothyroidotomy,Difficult airway mgmt. / Rapid sequence intubationBC/BP in EMBoard eligible (5 years) must maintainProgram Structure:Number of beds: 312Shifts: 6a-4p, 10a-9p, 2p-1a, 8p-6a NIGHT SHIFT REQUIREDNightshift: 1 doc and 1 APCSwing shift: 2 docs, 1 APCICU size: 32Semi-closed, must have permission from Intensivist to admit to ICU.Intensivist: Yes 24 hour coverage of MD/NPSub Specialty Support: Cardiology, Cardiovascular surgery, Gyn, Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ortho, Pulm, Surgery, Urology, Vascular SurgeryVolume / Clinical:Census: 49000 / 139/day# of patients per MD: 35 (with APC help)Rapid Response Requirement: ED providers not required to respond.Code Requirement: ICU will respond to all codes, and ED APC will respond only if ICU not available.Acuity Level/Transfers: Trauma- EDMD calls trauma surgeon prior to arrival of all Level 1 traumas. Level 2 and above surgeon called only if needed.Transfer- Case manager/charge nurse contacts CHRISTUS transfer center who will then work on finding placement. Texas residents stay in Texas, Arkansas residents transfer to Arkansas. Level III Trauma, Heliport for pt. transportEMR: MeditechCredentialing:Time Needed: 60-90 daysTemp privilege's: Yes under certain circumstances. Approval from MSO and CMO required.Certifications Required: EM-ATLS (must have had ATLS -does not need to be current)Notes/Other :Trauma III, Stroke & Chest PainDoes not allow residents to work in ER (no 3rd/4th year residents)Moderate Sedation exam must be completed for requested privileges -exam is emailed via a link directly to the provider to complete ()Flu-annually between October and MarchTB within 12 months (not required to keep current)Covid-2 vaccines or waiver for religion/medical (hospital will approve waiver)Immunization Records-MMR, VZV, Hep B, TdapEmployee health will complete any necessary screens -MSO will coordinate1x1 orientation completed day prior to first shift-must be on a week day, orientation from 8:45am to 2:30pmComputer Based Training must be completed prior to orientation (if not completed then orientation may add 2 additional hours to orientation).
