Job Description

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Electrical Supervisor on an 12-18 month contract based in Oxfordshire.

Role Summary

* Supervise electrical installation works on National Grid substations.

* Manage subcontractors and direct labour on site.

* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and National Grid procedures.

* Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.

* Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company policies.

* Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are implemented.

* Coordinate with Site Managers, Engineers, and Commissioning teams.

* Monitor progress, quality, and productivity on site.

* Complete site documentation, reports, and inspection records.

* Assist with planning and resolving technical/site issues.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on National Grid transmission or HV substation projects.

* Strong understanding of electrical installation practices within 132kV–400kV substations.

* SMSTS or SSSTS

* ECS Gold Card (or equivalent electrical qualification)

* National Grid Persons certification (essential)

* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Desirable

* National Grid Competent Person (CP) authorisation.

* First Aid at Work.

* Temporary Works Supervisor.

* Experience with protection & control installations.

* Previous experience on AIS and GIS substations.
