SEN Support Assistant (Diabetes and Behaviour Specialist)

Location PlymouthPay £14.61 per hourPart time Morning hours

Are you an experienced and compassionate Support Assistant looking for a rewarding morning role where you can make a genuine difference?

We are recruiting for a dedicated individual to provide one to one support for a pupil in Plymouth with medical and behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident, proactive and experienced in working with complex needs.

Key Requirements

• Medical training with experience in diabetes management
• Strong experience supporting pupils with challenging or complex behaviour
• Physically fit and able to respond quickly to ensure pupil safety
• Calm, patient and resilient, with a positive and consistent approach
• Previous SEN experience is highly desirable
• DBS on the update service is advantageous

Role Responsibilities

• Provide consistent one to one support during morning sessions
• Monitor and manage medical needs, including diabetes care
• Support emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
• Ensure the pupil's safety at all times, including responding to attempts to leave supervised areas
• Work collaboratively with school staff and follow individual care and behaviour plans
