Teaching Assistaant - Bradfields Academy

Apply Now

Recruiting for and on behalf of Bradfields Academy, an ‘Outstanding’ leading specialist academy in Medway. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Special Needs Teaching Assistants to work across our academy communities, supporting students aged 4–19 and play an important role in helping young people achieve their full potential.

Bradfields Academy, pride themselves on creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people, thrive in a collaborative environment, and are eager to make a positive difference every day.

In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom. You will help students engage with learning, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals. As a positive role model, you will contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment while maintaining high expectations for every learner.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs, whether gained in education, care, health, or other relevant settings. Qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Health and Social Care, or SEND-related certifications would be advantageous, although they are not essential. For opportunities within our Primary Community, experience or knowledge of Early Years education would be beneficial. For our Secondary Communities, skills or experience in areas such as arts, music, or science would be welcomed but are not essential.

Previous experience supporting children and young people with moderate to complex learning difficulties is desirable. Knowledge of moving and handling practices would also be advantageous, and successful candidates must be willing to support students with personal care where required. Above all, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate patience, resilience, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with additional needs.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for those considering a long-term career in special education. Many members of staff have progressed into teaching and other specialist roles within the academy through training and professional development opportunities available across the Trust.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and have the dedication, compassion, and enthusiasm to support our students to succeed, we would be delighted to hear from you. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to full safer recruitment compliance checks including satisfactory references and enhanced DBS checks. The Trust is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
