The Supply Register September 2026 Start Part-Time Long-Term Role

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Teaching Assistant looking for a varied role where no two weeks are the same?

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Gawthorpe Primary School for a part-time HLTA/Teaching Assistant to start in September 2026. This unique opportunity combines both HLTA and Teaching Assistant responsibilities, offering a varied and rewarding role within a supportive primary school environment.

The successful candidate will work 2 days per week as an HLTA and 3 days per week as a Teaching Assistant, with working days agreed flexibly to meet the needs of the school.

• Delivering lessons and covering classes in the absence of the teacher as an HLTA
• Supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
• Leading small group and 1:1 interventions
• Working closely with class teachers to support pupil progress
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Helping maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement

• HLTA status or significant classroom experience suitable for HLTA duties
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting
• Confidence leading whole-class learning when required
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• A flexible, proactive and committed approach
