As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Work under the guidance of class teachers and SENCo to support pupils with additional educational needs (SEN) in a primary school setting (typically Key Stage 1 & 2).
• Support children either 1:1 or in small groups, adapting learning materials and activities to suit their needs.
• Monitor pupil progress, share feedback with the teacher/SENCo and help implement strategies to support learning, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Promote independence, social skills and positive behaviour in the classroom, playground and other school spaces.
• Work collaboratively with the school team, parents/carers and external professionals as required.
• Contribute to creating an inclusive, supportive and safe learning environment in which every pupil feels valued.

You ll ideally have:

• Experience working in a primary school environment or with children with additional needs (though training will be offered if you re enthusiastic and committed).
• Patience, empathy and a positive outlook you enjoy supporting children to succeed, whatever their starting point.
• Good communication skills able to work as part of a team and build rapport with children and colleagues alike.
• A flexible can-do attitude: willingness to adapt, take direction, and respond to changing needs in the classroom.
• An understanding (or desire to learn) of special educational needs whether that s dyslexia, ADHD, ASD or other.
• A relevant qualification / TA experience is helpful but not essential attitude counts.
• Full UK right to work and an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one through us).
