Civil Project Engineer

Scope of Work: An exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a multi-disciplined Project Engineering team to help develop and deliver innovative solutions to high voltage electrical substation projects.

Turner Lovell is recruiting a Civil Project Engineer to join a leading business who are delivering new build and upgrade / expansion projects of substations across Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.

As a Civil Project Engineer you will:

Be responsible for Civil Engineering design and delivery on assigned projects, operating up to 400kV.

Promote and manage safety within assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and safety in design. Fulfilling the role of Designer or Principal Designer under CDM.

Provide technical input for your specialist discipline as well as interfacing with other technical and project functions to ensure a coordinated approach to project delivery plus identification and resolution of key risks.

Be responsible for defining scope and managing budgets for embedded engineering consultants and project driven engineering consultancy services.

The ideal profile is someone who has:

Degree in appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng or working towards this).

Knowledge and experience of energy or electricity network industries are preferable.

Good technical knowledge of industry standards and specifications, and how to determine applicability of relevant standards.

In depth understanding of CDM Regulations.

Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision making
