Class 1 Driver - Wagon and Drag
Location: Norwich
Shifts: Monday to Friday, starting from 02:00 - Guaranteed 10-hour shift

Pay Rate:

02:00 - 06:00: Paid at 20.00 per hour

Remaining hours of 10-hour shift: Paid at 17.50 per hour

Hours worked over 10 per day: Paid at 26.25 per hour overtime rate

Optional nights out available (1-3 per week) paid at an additional 26.20 per night out

We are seeking experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our operation on a temporary ongoing basis. The role will primarily involve wagon and drag work, although we have recently introduced two artic units into the fleet.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for stable, long-term work with a growing operation.

Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from, Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are roadworthy before departure
• Complete deliveries and collections safely and efficiently
• Operate primarily wagon and drag combinations, with occasional artic work
• Ensure compliance with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive, and road transport regulations
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service
• Accurately complete all relevant paperwork and delivery documentation
• Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times
• Drivers will be expected to complete between 1 and 3 nights out per week, although this is currently typically 1 to 2 nights out.

Requirements
Essential:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• Flexible and professional approach to work

Desirable:

• Previous wagon and drag experience
• Experience in general haulage or multi-drop operations
