Groundworkers / Drainage Operatives - Wigan

Location: Wigan

About the Role

We are currently recruiting experienced Groundworkers / Drainage Operatives for long-term work based in Wigan. This role involves working as part of an established gang carrying out drainage, sewer, and civil engineering works on a major project.

If you have a strong background in drainage and sewer installation and hold a valid Confined Spaces certificate, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out drainage and sewer installation, repairs, and maintenance.

Install pipes, manholes, chambers, and associated drainage infrastructure.

Work safely in confined spaces following site procedures.

Operate as part of a drainage gang to complete works efficiently.

Read and work from drawings and site plans.

Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.

Follow all health and safety procedures on site.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in drainage and sewer works.

Confined Spaces certificate (essential).

Experience working as part of a gang.

Valid CSCS Card.

Good understanding of health and safety on civil engineering sites.

Reliable, hard-working, and able to work as part of a team.

Preferred

Forward Tipping Dumper ticket (preferred).

Experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
