Location: Leigh

Start Date: September 2026

Duration: 12 Months (Maternity Cover)

Salary: 110 a day

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a wonderful primary school in Leigh. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2026, covering a maternity leave for a full academic year (12 months).

The Role

As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with the class teacher to create a safe, stimulating, and fun learning environment. Your day-to-day will involve:

Supporting child-initiated play and delivering adult-led activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.

Observing and assessing children's development, keeping track of their progress milestones.

Fostering a warm, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere.

Assisting with outdoor play, creative arts, and phonics/number work.

Managing personal care with dignity and respect.

What We Are Looking For:

A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).

Prior experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.

A creative, energetic, and patient approach to supporting young children.

Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for a new one).
