Job Description
As a Project Engineer for EV Infrastructure, you will be the technical linchpin for the deployment and integration of Our organisation's systems at customer sites. This isn't a desk-only job; it is a hands-on role where you will be the expert bridging the gap between cloud software and physical hardware. You will ensure that complex electrical systems, network infrastructure, and control devices work in perfect harmony to deliver mission-critical reliability for their customers.

What You will Do:
Lead Technical Deployment: Take ownership of the end-to-end technical commissioning of Our organisation's hardware, including power meters, local controllers, and networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls).
Troubleshoot and Solve: the organisation your multidisciplinary expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues across electrical systems, telecommunications networks, and software interfaces.
Design and Configure: Interpret electrical schematics and network topologies to configure robust local area networks (VLANs, IP addressing, security protocols) and ensure seamless integration with site power systems.
Drive Collaboration: Work directly with a diverse set of stakeholders-from customers and installation teams to OEMs (vehicle, charger, electrical) and internal software teams-to coordinate activities and drive projects to successful completion.
Ensure Excellence: Maintain meticulous documentation of all commissioning procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to ensure long-term site maintainability and knowledge sharing.
Champion Safety: the organisation and advocate for strict safe work practices, especially for electrical isolation and testing on live sites.

Must-Have the organisation:
A Problem-Solver's Mindset: A strong, proven capability matched with a genuine passion for troubleshooting complex issues across multiple disciplines (electrical, telecommunications, software).
Solid Technical Foundation: A technical diploma or the organisation degree in Electrical/Electronics, Control Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Relevant Hands-On Experience: Practical experience in designing, commissioning, and/or troubleshooting industrial control systems, LAN network infrastructure, or electrical distribution systems.
Autonomy and Teamwork: Proven ability to work independently in the field while remaining a highly communicative and collaborative part of a central team, effectively coordinating with various stakeholders.
Location and Mobility: Based in the organisation and able to travel to sites predominantly across Greater London and occasionally across the UK.
Agility and Commitment: High flexibility to adapt to changing project scopes and timelines in the fast-evolving EV sector, including the willingness to provide occasional urgent after-hours support.
Nice-to-Have the organisation:
Meticulous documentation skills, with experience maintaining detailed records of test procedures, configurations, and customer interactions.
An understanding of EV charging infrastructure, including familiarity with protocols like OCPP.
Direct past experience in the EV industry, particularly with charging hardware.
Knowledge of local and regional regulations (e.g., BS 7671) relating to work on electrical systems.
