Role Title: Platform Engineer

Location: Manchester, 5 days onsite

Duration: 6 months contract

Rate: £480 - £520

Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled SharePoint SME / 3rd Line Technical Specialist to support and evolve our SharePoint estate across on-premises and Microsoft 365 platforms. This is a hands-on role requiring strong expertise in SharePoint upgrades, administration, and development.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Operations & Support

Manage SharePoint farm servers, web applications, service applications, content databases, and supporting infrastructure.

Administer Search Service Applications, Managed Metadata, User Profile Services, Distributed Cache, and related components.

Act as 3rd line escalation for complex SharePoint issues

Lead SharePoint 2019 to Subscription Edition (SE) upgrades

Manage and support SharePoint Online (M365)

Ensure platform performance, security, and reliabilityEssential Skills

SharePoint Server 2019 & Subscription Edition (SE)

SharePoint Online (M365)

Deep knowledge of SharePoint farm architecture and operational support.

Understanding of search-driven user interfaces and applications.

Extensive experience supporting SharePoint Search architecture.

Crawl configuration, indexing, query processing, and search optimization.Desirable Skills

Microsoft 365 stack: OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online

Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)

Exposure to Microsoft Copilot / AI capabilitiesCertifications (Preferred)

Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102)

Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204)

Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400)

Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900)
