A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Bromley is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Physical Education to join its successful PE department from September 2026 on a full-time maternity cover basis.

Initially, this role is expected to run from September until November 2026, with the potential to be extended.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or Early Career Teacher who is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork, resilience and sporting achievement.

The successful candidate will teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons while encouraging participation, confidence and personal development.

The Role

As a Teacher of PE, you will:

• Deliver high-quality PE lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Inspire students to develop a lifelong appreciation for physical activity and healthy living.

• Teach a broad range of sports and physical activities.

• Plan, assess and deliver lessons in line with curriculum requirements.

• Monitor and track student progress and attainment.

• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Encourage participation in extracurricular sports and enrichment activities.

• Support school fixtures, competitions and sporting events.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school and PE department.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching PE across KS3 and KS4.

• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Physical Education.

• The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
