Interim FP&A Analyst - PMO and Transformation - 1 day in the office per week, with 4 days working from home.
the organisation are working with a retail Bank to secure an Interim FP&A Analyst to support transformation projects across the Group. The successful candidate will be the trusted finance business partner to the Heads of PMO, Technology and Finance teams ensuring accurate capitalisation of change spend, cost efficiency, and project investment tracking.
Candidates will have previous financial analysis/business partnering experience gained through support change programmes within a the organisation environment.
As the trusted Finance Business Partner, you will lead the financial tracking for change and transformation portfolios, ensuring correct treatment of costs between capex and opex.
Partner with value stream leads, PMOs, and finance business partners to provide visibility of financial performance and capitalisation opportunities.
Support the preparation of the change budget and long-term investment plans.
Review project cost submissions and ensure alignment with accounting policy (IAS 38, IFRS 16, etc.).
Monitor capex rates across programmes and ensure consistent treatment across the portfolio.
Develop insightful reporting packs summarising capital spend, benefit realisation, and return on investment.
Challenge non-value-adding spend and ensure alignment with transformation priorities.
Support audit reviews and ensure strong documentation and governance of capitalisation assessments.
Build and maintain project tracking models in spreadsheet application or Adaptive Planning.
Skills and Experience:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualification FP&A or project accounting experience.
Solid understanding of capitalisation principles and experience applying them to transformation or IT programmes.
Experience working in a value stream or programme-based environment, ideally in banking or the organisation.
Strong spreadsheet application modelling and data manipulation skills; experience with Adaptive Planning, business intelligence platform, or similar tools advantageous.
Excellent stakeholder management - able to work across finance, PMO, and technology teams.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to explain financial treatment and impact clearly.
Proven experience supporting investment cases and tracking benefits realisation.
