Site Engineer - Major Highways Project (West Midlands)

Location: West Midlands

Contract Duration: 6-12 Months

Rate: £400 per day

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major highways infrastructure project in the West Midlands. Working as part of a multidisciplinary construction team, you will be responsible for setting out, quality assurance, technical compliance, and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of works on site.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out setting out and site surveying activities.

Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Produce and maintain accurate site records, as-builts, and QA documentation.

Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site activities.

Identify and resolve technical issues on site, liaising with design and project teams as required.

Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Assist with planning, progress reporting, and programme delivery.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways, roads, or major civil engineering projects.

Strong knowledge of setting out using GPS and total station equipment.

Experience with QA processes, ITPs, and construction documentation.

HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

CSCS Card (essential).

SMSTS and First Aid qualifications desirable.

Full UK driving licence.

Rate & Contract

£400 per day.

6-12 month contract with potential extension.
