The school is based in the Suburbs with a community feels and serves students aged from 4 to 11 years with around 100 students in total. Job Description:
The Teaching Assistant role will be a 1:1 role supporting a Year R and Year 1 with additional needs. These children will be worked with 1:1 to support their routines, regulation, academic and social needs. This is a full time role for someone with SEND experience who drives as the location is difficult to get to via public transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assist in the creation of learning materials and resources.
- Support the teacher in behaviour management and maintaining a disciplined, respectful classroom atmosphere.
- Contribute to the tracking and assessment of student progress.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
- A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
