Job Description

Summary

Our client is looking for an Interim Management Accountant to join their team on a 3-month basis to support core finance activities, with a particular focus on balance sheet reconciliations, month-end reporting and management accounts preparation.

The Role

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Complete and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations across multiple accounts.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, ensuring robust financial controls are maintained.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Produce variance analysis and management reporting to support financial decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Support audit requests and provide documentation as required.
• Work closely with finance and operational stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate and complete.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and finance processes.
• Leverage AI tools within the business's secure environment to streamline routine accounting activities and improve efficiency.

The Successful Candidate

• Demonstrable experience preparing monthly management accounts
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience, including resolving historic and complex reconciliations.
• Excellent understanding of month-end accounting processes.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across the business.
• Comfortable working with AI-enabled tools and adopting new technologies to improve productivity.

Desirable

• Experience within the property, real estate or housing sectors.
• Experience preparing or reviewing service charge accounts.
• Experience working within multi-entity environments.
