Job Title: SEND Teacher

Area: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Rate: 140 - 220 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

• Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching to secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Plan and differentiate engaging lessons that align with EHCP outcomes and individual learning goals.
• Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure students receive consistent support.
• Promote students' academic achievement, social development, emotional wellbeing, and preparation for adulthood.
• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

What We're Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching within an SEN setting or strong experience supporting students with SEND within mainstream secondary education.
• Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, communication needs, and complex learning difficulties.
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour and classroom management.
• A passion for inclusive education and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
• The ability to adapt teaching strategies and learning resources to meet a wide range of individual needs.

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child-related references.
