Project Manager – Exhibitions

Location: Birmingham

Contract: 3 Months

Rate: £240 - £260 per day

Status: Outside IR35

We're recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of exhibition stands, experiential projects and bespoke live event environments. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy project team delivering high-quality exhibition and trade show projects across the UK and internationally.

You'll be responsible for managing projects from initial client brief through to design, manufacture, installation, live event delivery and final dismantling, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The Role

* Manage the complete lifecycle of exhibition, trade show and experiential projects.

* Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.

* Develop detailed project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.

* Coordinate design, production, fabrication and installation teams.

* Liaise with exhibition organisers, venues and technical authorities.

* Manage exhibition approvals, permits and venue compliance requirements.

* Coordinate procurement of materials, graphics, AV equipment and exhibition components.

* Oversee suppliers, subcontractors and fabrication partners.

* Manage project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance.

* Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value and maintain profitability.

* Coordinate transport, logistics and international shipping where required.

* Lead onsite installation, live event delivery and exhibition breakdown.

* Ensure projects comply with health & safety regulations and venue requirements.

* Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

* Resolve onsite issues quickly while maintaining programme and quality standards.

* Produce regular project progress reports for clients and senior management.

* Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

About You

* Minimum 5 years' experience managing exhibition, trade show or experiential projects.

* Proven background delivering bespoke exhibition stands or temporary structures.

* Strong understanding of exhibition build processes and onsite installation.

* Experience managing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.

* Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and project costs.

* Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills.

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and production documentation.

* Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Event Management, Architecture or a related discipline.

* PMP or equivalent project management qualification would be advantageous.
