Groundworks Site Supervisor

Reading, Berkshire

£250–£260 per day | Contract: 3 August to 12 October 2026

Day shifts, with occasional weekend work

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Groundworks Site Supervisor to support a project at Bulmershe School in Reading.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working alongside the team while also supervising a groundworks gang, monitoring progress and maintaining high health and safety standards. A Senior Site Manager will oversee the project and provide support across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

As Groundworks Site Supervisor, you will:

Supervise and coordinate a groundworks gang on site

*

Take a hands-on approach when required

*

Monitor daily progress against the programme

*

Ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard

*

Manage site health and safety procedures

*

Deliver site briefings and toolbox talks where required

*

Communicate clearly with the client and site management

*

Coordinate labour, materials and daily activities

*

Identify and report delays, issues or additional requirements

*

Provide regular progress updates to the Senior Site Manager

*

Maintain a professional and organised site environment

Requirements

Applicants should have:

*

Previous experience supervising groundworks or civils projects

*

Strong practical groundworks knowledge

*

A valid CSCS card

*

Experience managing small gangs or site teams

*

Good knowledge of construction health and safety

*

The ability to read drawings and follow site programmes

*

Strong communication and client-facing skills

*

A reliable, proactive and hands-on approach

*

SSSTS qualification would be advantageous

*

First Aid certification would be advantageous
